It started out as a substitute name for a "bean-looking" thing on the ultrasound picture. Her older brother was called "nugget" until we found out "nugget" was a he and we could call him by name. "Bean" stuck a little longer since mom and dad were slightly indecisive about her name. After we decided her name, her nickname fell at the end and hence, Lily Bean was born. When she was born, there was a commercial with an "it" roaming the streets to the Monkees tune, "Cheer Up Sleepy Jean". This became Lily Bean's nighttime lullaby and every night the kids sing along to "Cheer Up Lily Bean". There are lots of variations: Bean, Beaner, Beanut, Beanie but tonight Bobo gave her the best gift...Her new Beaner hat and she LOVES it. I have a feeling she'll insist on wearing it for Easter Sunday.
