A Sad Night

Well I just got home from dropping my parents off at the airport. It is always such a bittersweet time...mom's crying, dad's rushing (so we don't see him crying) and I'm smiling from ear to ear, not because they are leaving, but because I am full...full of love, full of memories, full of support...I always feel I can breathe easier after some time with my parents. And now the kids are older, we've added a new dynamic...tiny tears and pitiful cries from the back seat. I know its so hard for them and they won't see them for five months, which makes it even harder. So my happy, full heart is twisted and torn for my two little babes in the backseat who will desperately miss their Mamie and Pops...Can't wait for Keuka Lake!!!

Some pics from the aquarium...

Baby Anabelle Dedication

Dad did a beautiful ceremony at Allan and Michelle's house dedicating Miss Anabelle to the Lord. And...Tate and Lily had a wonderful time loving all over her...

Arcade Time

Cabin fever hit today...with all this rain we haven't had much time outside. We were going to take the kids swimming at the indoor pool, but due to a slight mommy miscalculation (misread the closing time), we decided to go the arcade. It's a great place with video games, skee ball, and bouncy thingies. Lily spent most of her time bouncin' while Tate and Robbie raced motorcycles and racecars. Afterwards, we picked up Jenkins to-go and came home to watch Kung Fu Panda in our pjs. Maybe sunshine tomorrow...

Paying the Price

When I was younger, my mom would always say, "When you dance, you gotta pay the fiddler." Well, the fiddler's been dancing around my house today demanding some serious cash. Last night we had a family slumber party with Brandi & gang, Heather & gang, and Stef & Nonny. We had a great time. And dance we did...

We Dined

We Played

We Slumbered

We "Wii"ed

We Cozied

We Snuggled

We Smooched

And we laughed our butts off...

Happy 2009 Everyone! Looking forward to another great year...

OK-ya

I have just returned from checking on the non-napper and I'm wondering what has happened to my baby girl. It's almost as if she is practicing her teenage voice before she is actually a teenager. The conversation goes like this:

"Lil, why are you up?"

"Momma, I'm not up. I'm in my bed calling for you."

"What do you need?"

"I need to go potty."

"You just went potty."

"It's poop this time."

"Come on"

"Momma (while sitting on the toilet) I told you I had to go poop."

"Yes you did. Are you done?"

"Hmmm. Not yet."

"OK."

"Momma (still on toilet) whata we gonna do when we wake up?"

"Well IF we take a good nap, then we're going to dinner with Papaw and Mamaw."

"Are you sleepy too, momma?"

"Yes...very sleepy. Done yet?"

"Hmmmm. Not yet. Is Tate sleeping?"

"Yes he's asleep."

"He's going to dinner?"

"Yes."

"Am I going to dinner?"

"Yes. If you nap. Done yet?"

"Yep. I have poop in my pants."

"Did you forget to wipe?"

"Yep."

"Let's get clean underwear."

"OK. I still go to dinner?"

"Yes. If you nap."

"I'm going to nap now (while changing underwear), k momma?"

"I think that'd be a great idea."

"I won't get up, k momma."

"OK."

"I won't yell from my bed, I promise."

"OK."

"PROMISE, MOMMA"

"I promise (walking into bedroom)."

"NO. I PROMISE, MOMMA."

"OK. You're my sweet girl. Go to sleep and we'll have fun when you wake up."

"And go to dinner?"

"Yes...go to dinner when you wake up. Night."

"Night, momma."

And now I'm thinking she's the sweetest thing in the world I say..."Remember not to get up out of bed."

To which she replies............"OK-ya" (with extra emphasis on the ya). "You don't get up either. And don't talk to me."

Just when I thought we were getting somewhere.
